The Very High Speed Transit System

In 2007, the MOR introduced the China Railways High-speed service, also known as “Harmony Trains”, a version of the German Siemens Velaro high-speed train. For 4 decades from its opening in 1964, the Japanese Shinkansen was the one high-speed rail service outdoors of Europe. In the 2000s a variety of new high-speed rail companies started working in East Asia. In 1992, the United States Congress passed the Amtrak Authorization and Development Act that authorized Amtrak to start engaged on service enhancements on the section between Boston and New York City of the Northeast Corridor. In 1966, French Infrastructure Minister Edgard Pisani consulted engineers and gave the French National Railways twelve months to boost speeds to 200 km/h .
